Central Mountain High School

Growing up in the small town of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, competition always ran high between my two younger siblings and me.  In good fun, that sibling rivalry set the stage for determination, a hard work ethic, and knowing that every opportunity needs to be earned.

Penn State University

After being recruited to play both soccer and football, I chose to attend to Penn State and play football. Excitedly, I began my college journey as a walk-on, which then led to my starting career during my true freshman year.  Sophomore year, I received a scholarship, and I continued to play the sport for the remainder of my time at Penn State.  I finished 5th on the all-time scoring list.

New England Patriots

As the draft was nearing its end, a few teams invited me to attend their training camps as an undrafted free agent. New England was my camp of choice, as I could learn from the Super Bowl Champions!  Luckily, from that experience, this is where my career began, and am be forever grateful to this organization and my teammates.

Baltimore Ravens

After being cut at the end of the 2005 training camp,  Shortly after being cut, the Ravens called me to work out for their practice squad.  Having signed to their practice squad and waiting to sign to the regular roster as their kickoff specialist.   On Monday of the third week of the season, I was going to be activated to the kickoff specialist. That was short-lived, however, as I was released by the team the very next day.

Chicago Bears

Upon returning to my hometown I started working construction and continued to pursue my childhood dreamThe Ch icago Bears called the construction company where I was working at to have me come in for a tryout.  I proceeded to hang up on them twice thinking the tryout was a prank by my college friends.  Eventually, I realized it wasn't a prank and that evening I was on a flight to Chicago. On Friday,  I tried out against six other kickers and Sunday I was kicking in my first NFL game.

New York Giants

I was released by the Chicago Bears over Labor Day weekend of my 12th NFL training camp.  During the first 5 weeks of the season, I worked out for several teams and decided to sign with the Giants.  I was on my way to swimming lessons with my oldest son when the team called.  They called on a Thursday afternoon and by that evening I was on a plane to join the team in London.

San Francisco 49ers

The 2017 free agency period was quite an interesting process.  Taking into consideration weather and career longevity, I decided to join the rebuilding 49ers.  During my current stint with the team I had two of my career best years and have reset the record books for field goal percentage.
